Casa Poma Muses Talks :)

Bienvenida a Casa

Alexandra Harwood

Welcome to our everyday heroes!

We are proud to showcase our biggest fans, authentic women, entrepreneurs, hard workers, and passionate about their craft. Because it is essential to stay true to one's heart and values and also to share our talents, we have created this space!

We start with one of our biggest fans, a muse of everyday life who inspires and supports us. We have dedicated a part of our space to those who are the bosses of Casa Poma our clients and muses. Without you, we would have never made it.

We begin with you, dear  Alexandra HARWOOD, the floor is yours!

Hello Alexandra, can you introduce yourself?

Hello! I am a fashion historian, specializing in Maison Courrèges and Haute Couture. I am also a consultant in trend forecasting, strategy, and artistic direction. Convinced that fashion and lifestyle are reflections of our societies, I actively work to develop a fashion culture in France

Why do you like Casa Poma?

I love Casa Poma for its colorful, joyful, soft, and feminine universe. The second thing that makes me fall in love is the craftsmanship behind the brand and the valorization of alpaca.

I find it to be a brand that is very consistent from start to finish (the softness and femininity that I find in the artistic direction resonates perfectly with the brand's behind-the-scenes - the manufacturing process and the community of women in Peru).

In which months of the year do you wear Casa Poma?

I exclusively wear the bandana in winter (since I wear it to cover my head, ahah). As for the skirt, I often wear it in winter (with thick black tights), but I have also started wearing it in the mid-season (fall and spring) without tights.

Otherwise, I wear the sweater all year round, in winter as well as in summer (because it is perfect for long summer nights

There is something deeply human that I appreciate a lot, but most importantly, I really admire that Casa Poma develops its identity through an aesthetic universe rather than solely relying on its good practices to define its brand image.

Which Casa Poma piece is part of your wardrobe?

I own the full black look: the skirt, the sweater, and the bandana.

Which pieces from the new collection do you like?

I honestly love all the pieces from the new collection, so it's hard for me to pick favorites! But here are some of the standout pieces for me:

Firstly, the range of hoodies is amazing, especially the colorful full hoodie Crochet . I also love the new colors of the skirts, particularly the green and beige ones, and the sleeveless sweaters that go with them. I'm also a big fan of the socks and the rainbow sweater. And lastly, I really like the mittens, especially the green and red ones.

Those are basically my next purchases 😆

Why do you prefer to buy from socially conscious brands?

I prefer to buy from socially conscious brands because I'm aware of the production process behind an item. However, I prefer a socially conscious brand that has a strong identity and has developed its own aesthetic and artistic universe, rather than relying solely on good practices. Unfortunately, I think customers don't buy just because something is "well-made," but because it's beautiful. That's why I love Casa Poma: it's beautiful both in substance and in form :)

Any styling tips on how you like to wear Casa Poma?

Since I have the full black look, I love dressing in a total Casa Poma look. I also like to pair my black sweater with blue jeans or wear my black skirt with an oversized t-shirt or a blouse/shirt (in black, white, or even stronger colors like purple or pink). In the winter, I always wear the black bandana on my head 😆 and I really enjoy pairing it with a big vintage brown velvet corduroy Prada jacket that I thrifted last year.

What message of encouragement would you like to give to the team?

I LOVE you ❤️ Casa Poma pieces are so soft, so beautiful, and they make me feel amazing! When I wear Casa Poma, I feel both comfortable and feminine (a dream come true!). Thank you for existing and for bringing such an intelligent and human-centered project to life. You are all incredibly talented and radiant, and you restore my faith in humanity :) 🌈.
