PO’MA represents a collaborative bond between 80 women in the region of Puno, Peru and 2 women in the city of Paris, France.
Initiated by Argelia Jimenez, the seed of PO’MA was planted in the highlands of Peru from her first trip there in 2016.
The future of our economy for the better includes women, which is manifested as a worldwide fact. Investing in women along building a sustainable community around women, is our drive. PO’MA is our take on that.
In symbiosis of every team member in Puno and Paris, our ambitions are defined as trifold :
Produce with the least wasteful model of production with close to zero stock
Benefit the artisans to increase automony and supply a living wage
Create items that posses transformative features and capture timelessness
We aim for a connection which is intellectual, with capacities to understand our cultures, not only at a linguistic level, but also at the cultural, social, commercial, religious and environmental level. With video calls as our 3rd reality, we can be in continuous dialogue, in order to capture the possibilities of PO’MA.
We ensure that our purpose is reached, with the help of NGO Innovar & Compartir who are situated in Peru. With their mother organization Heifer International, they bring a valuable experience in implementing initiatives beneficial for the territory and its people.
